L\u2019emplette, au mus\u00e9e McCord, de l\u2019excellent guide d\u2019Helen Malkin et Nancy Dunton sur l\u2019architecture contemporaine montr\u00e9alaise (<a href=\"https:\/\/pum.umontreal.ca\/catalogue\/guide-de-larchitecture-contemporaine-de-montreal1\" title=\"pr\u00e9sentation de l'\u00e9diteur\" target=\"_blank\">PUM<\/a>, 2016) m\u2019aura aid\u00e9 cette fois \u00e0 \u00e9viter la scl\u00e9rose en me sugg\u00e9rant des promenades dans des quartiers o\u00f9 j\u2019ai v\u00e9cu nagu\u00e8re mais qui se sont profond\u00e9ment transform\u00e9s (le quartier Alexandra-Marconi, rebaptis\u00e9 Mile-Ex, \u00e7a fait plus chic) et d\u2019autres o\u00f9 je n\u2019avais jamais mis les pieds, tel le faubourg des R\u00e9collets. Anciens quartiers de fabriques et de manufactures, longtemps laiss\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019abandon, \u00e0 pr\u00e9sent \u00ab r\u00e9habilit\u00e9s \u00bb, comme on dit, suivant une pratique estimable et qui a cours dans la plupart des villes, de Rotterdam \u00e0 Turin.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Montr\u00e9al, pas plus qu\u2019une autre ville, n\u2019est d\u00e9pourvue d\u2019aberrations urbanistiques, et il y pousse des horreurs comme partout ailleurs (sans parler des travaux interminables, chauss\u00e9es, trottoirs ouverts dans tous les coins, puis rebouch\u00e9s, pour \u00eatre \u00e9ventr\u00e9s \u00e0 nouveau quelques mois plus tard). Guid\u00e9 durant quelques apr\u00e8s-midis par mes nouvelles amies Malkin et Dunton, j\u2019ai n\u00e9anmoins \u00e9t\u00e9 s\u00e9duit par la qualit\u00e9 de nombreuses r\u00e9alisations, et surtout par le souci de leurs ma\u00eetres d\u2019\u0153uvre d\u2019int\u00e9grer harmonieusement leurs constructions au b\u00e2ti existant.
