Peter Evans (tp), Jon Iribagon (sa), Moppa Elliot (cb) et Kevin Shea (bt) ont manifestement beaucoup \u00e9cout\u00e9, beaucoup \u00e9tudi\u00e9. Mais tandis que ce poids des \u0153uvres pass\u00e9es \u00e9crase tant de musiciens de leur g\u00e9n\u00e9ration au temp\u00e9rament moins robuste, eux semblent y puiser la ressource d&rsquo;un \u00e9lan vital, d&rsquo;une spontan\u00e9it\u00e9 sans cesse r\u00e9invent\u00e9e &#8211; \u00e0 l&rsquo;oppos\u00e9 du revivalisme scolaire ou du collage de citations postmoderne qui concourent trop souvent \u00e0 faire du jazz contemporain une musique de r\u00e9pertoire ou pis, un catalogue \u00e0 \u00ab sampler \u00bb. Les th\u00e8mes accrocheurs, la joyeuse collision des genres propuls\u00e9e par un swing ind\u00e9fectible, les changements de rythme \u00e0 vue, les traits d\u2019humour parodique, les accalmies et les reprises au quart de tour, les bifurcations soudaines et les accidents de parcours y sont emport\u00e9s par une \u00e9nergie tour \u00e0 tour d\u00e9bordante et parfaitement canalis\u00e9e.
